Tottenham-born rapper Headie One has announced his new mixtape ‘Too Loyal…For My Own Good’. With the news, he has decided to drop a new single from the tape titled ‘Beggars Can’t Be Choosers’. Headie makes a slight turn away from traditional drill to unique and melodic beats as he once did with Fred again.. in their collaborative mixtape ‘GANG’.

Produced by QuincyTellEm, the laidback beat followed by Headie’s upbeat and rhythmic wordplay creates a brilliant balance to the song. Although the track in its nature is a bit fast-paced, Headie slows it down with vulnerability and honesty throughout. Headie mentions past broken friendships and challenges he has faced while being caught up in street life with lyrics such as “Got yutes that I loved that I can’t be cool with”.
Based in Thamesmead, the music video continues from where the ‘2 Chains’ video left off, with Headie sitting on a bed overlooking the water. Throughout the video, it shows Headie journeying through London with a female companion shopping at high-end stores.
The new upcoming mixtape will be dropping on October 1st. With the singles he has released so far. It will be interesting to see where Headie takes the listeners on this one.
